Abstract: Arbitration and competition law are quite strange bedfellows. In some ways they are inherently contradictory and incompatible, but equally they can greatly complement one another in certain situations. This paper charts the increasingly widespread use of arbitration as a means of settling competition law claims, before assessing the appropriateness of such developments and the potential impacts on competition law in the future.

Arbitration Act 2010 - Ireland
The President of Ireland signed the Arbitration Act 2010 in March 2010. It becomes effective on June 8, 2010. This updates the former arbitration law in Ireland and repeals pre-existing Arbitration and applies to UNCITRAL. Read more here.

Legitimacy of International Arbitration
A recent Louisiana Law Review article by Tony Cole of University of Warwick School of Law argues that "contemporary international arbitration is currently beset by a "legitimacy" problem."
